Organizational background:

Action Contre la Faim (Action Against Hunger) has been conducting humanitarian programs in Somalia since May 1992. Currently, Action Against Hunger is conducting its humanitarian activities in Somalia focused on treating and preventing malnutrition, increasing access to clean water and appropriate sanitation, strengthening the food-security, livelihoods and thus boosting the resilience of communities in Somalia as well as emergency response via program bases in Somalia.

The Positions and responsibilities:

Action Against Hunger Somalia is looking for a Somali national to fill the position of Project Officer. The position will be based in Mogadishu-Somalia. The incumbent will report to the SHINE Team Lead.

The Project Officer’s core responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

Objective 1: Coordination for training

  • To ensure all Training are executed as per agreed plan
  • To liaise with partners for preparation of respective training
  • To coordinate with FMoH for provision of master trainers, curricula and nominations for training
  • To coordinate with proposed master trainers and participants for compliance to training agenda
  • To coordinate logistic arrangements for training in line with Standard CMU Checklist

Objective 2 : Secretarial Support to training:

  • Maintain training database having all details at CMU level
  • Collection of training reports from partners and filing
  • Ensuring appropriate invoices for all training related expenses from partners
  • Support finance section in settling /adjusting training expenses by MoH and SHINE partners

Objective 3: Monitoring of training:

  • To act as training monitor for all SHINE Supply training
  • Monitor each training using standard monitoring checklist
  • Share on spot and post training feedback with executing partner

Qualifications, experience and competencies

  • University degree Social Sciences, or the equivalent
  • At least one year working experience of similar tasks
  • Must be Somali , resident of Mogadishu
  • Reasonably good Reporting and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Command over MS Office
  • Reasonably good English Speaking and Writing Skills
  • Proven technical knowledge and capacity to lead implementation of H&N activities, projects, programs
  • Good know how about working in Humanitarian sector
  • Flexible , capability to adjust with all types of stakeholders in MoH and among SHINE partners
